habe soeben versucht auf einen Kanotixsystem mit einen Kernel von slh (z.B. 2.6.17.6-slh-up-1) dein Bootsplashscript zu aktivieren aber es bricht mit einer Fehlermeldung beim Script install-bootsplash-acritox.sh ab (sinngemäß): Kernel 2.6.17.6-slh-up-1 für Bootsplash nicht geeignet. Bei einen Kernel von Kano (z.B. 2.6.17-kanotix-1) gehts ohne Probleme zu installieren und es funktioniert auch. Geht das generell nur mit Kano's Kerneln ?

Damit Bootsplash genutzt werden kann muss der Kernel dafür angepasst werden. Dazu existieren Bootsplash-Patches, siehe http://www.bootsplash.org/kernel.html
Kano integriert diese Patches in seinen Kernel, slh nicht, das Ganze ist also hauptsächlich eine Frage des "Geschmacks" ;-)

perhaps you are using an old version of my script, but the latest version uses the right sources.list-entry (it works - i've tested it)
# bootsplash deb http://bootsplash.de unstable main deb-src http://bootsplash.de unstable main sysv-rc-bootsplash won't be installed by my script because my script has its own sysv-rc-patches included (when creating the script the sysv-rc-bootsplash package was broken and it was too "unflexible" to patch the unstable AND the experimental version of sysv-rc, so i made my own patches - so sysv-rc-bootsplash is not needed)

es arbeitet mit aes256-Verschlüsselung, genaue Daten dazu kriegst du wohl am einfachsten in der cryptsetup-Manpage (oder sonst wo, wo es um cryptsetup geht), da DirectCrypt cryptsetup für die Verschlüsselung verwendet (normalerweise: Parameter: "-c aes", für die "alten" AES-Container, die mit losetup -E AES252 (oder so) erstellt wurden wird als Kompatibilitätsmodus "-c aes -h sha512" verwendet)
